【摘要】:Withtheproperprecautionsandbackgroundexperience,resultscanbeusefulforestimationofthelossofapackagedproductthroughthewallsofacontainerduringshelfstorage.Thetestisalsousefulforisolatingtheeffectsofacontainerdesignandmaterials,andisapplicablefordevelopmentandresearchandforspecificationpurposes.Intheabsenceofadequatesupportingdata,extrapolationsorcorrelationsofresultstoconditionsbeyondthoseofthetestarenotrecommendedbecauseofpossibleproductalteration,solvency,orchemicaleffectsontheplastic,etc.Beforeproceedingwiththistestmethod,refertothespecificationofthematerialbeingtested.Anytestspecimenpreparation,conditioning,dimensions,ortestingparameters,orcombinationthereof,coveredinthematerialsspecificationshalltakeprecedenceoverthosementionedinthistestmethod.Iftherearenomaterialspecifications,thenthedefaultconditionsapply.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresfordeterminingthepermeabilityofthermoplasticcontainerstopackagedreagentsorproprietaryproductsunderspecifiedconditionsofexposure.Theexposuresusedareintendedtosimulatethenormalandelevatedtemperature-storageconditionsthatmightbeencounteredinend-useapplication.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicableonlytothosetypesofcontainersdesignedtoallowpositive,leakproofclosure.1.3Twoproceduresareprovided:1.3.1ProcedureAisspecifictotestingonlywithastandarddesigncontainer.Thisprocedureprovidesfordeterminationsofrateofweightloss(orgain)andforcalculationofapermeabilityfactor.1.3.2ProcedureBappliestotestsofallothercontainerdesigns.Permeabilitydatabythisprocedureareexpressedonlyintermsofrateofweightloss(orgain)fortheparticularcontainertested.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Note18212;ThereisnoknownISOequivalenttothisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
